Niere (engl. kidney) is a kinetic sculpture in the tradition of an oracle. Drops of water fill an oscillating bowl, which distributes the collected water randomly into one of the adjacent basins. Each of the three basins bears one of the following sentences: "The answer is yes. The answer is no. The answer remains unclear."
Pouring out the water thus selects the answer to a potential question. The kidney-shaped basins refer to the human body and the organ responsible for filtration. They indicate that the good decision should be made in harmony with the forces of nature and the feeling of one's own body.
