Constellation 2 | projection machine | 2024
Constellation 2 brings together a projection machine, a series of 16mm film portraits, and stones individually gathered in relation to each portrait. For each presentation, a single film is selected and inserted into a ring-shaped structure, while its corresponding stone is positioned at the center. The film circulates continuously through four projectors, using the stone’s irregular surface as a site of convergence where the images overlap and merge. The result is the apparition of a flickering human head that appears to rotate slowly around its own axis, suspended between material presence and optical illusion.
